6 Simple Steps to Install WordPress at OKPublic.com

Here are 6 simple steps to setup the latest version of WordPress:

  1. Login to the control panel by going to http://www.okpublic.com/cpanel/ and entering in your username and password.
  2. Click on the Fantastico” link at the bottom of the page.

  3. Click on the “WordPress” link in the list of software.

  4. Click on the “New Installation” link.

  5. Fill out the form. Below the image are explanations of each field.

    • Install on domain: Choose which domain to use with WordPress. This only applies if you have multiple domains linked to the same hosting account.
    • Install in directory: Leave empty to install in the root directory of the domain (access example: http://domain/). Enter only the directory name to install in a directory (for http://domain/name/ enter name only). This directory SHOULD NOT exist, it will be automatically created! (From the Page)
    • Administrator-username: Create a unique username to use for logging it to the new WordPress installation.
    • Password: As always, use a unique combination of letters and numbers when creating your password and don’t forget to remember it!
    • Admin nickname: This is the name that you want to be displayed as the author when making posts in WordPress.
    • Admin e-mail: Self-explanatory.
    • Site name: This will be displayed in the header of each page.
    • Description: This will also be displayed in the header of each page as a tag line.
    • E-mail account configuration: Self-explanatory.
  6. Click on the “Finish installation” button.
